2009 Tax Credit Information

Get rewarded for improving your home!  You could be eligible for up to $1,500 in tax credits, if you purchase energy efficient insulation from Gutter Grate in 2009.  Reduce your energy bills while saving on your new home improvements.

Because of the The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, home improvement tax credits are now available for qualifying home improvements placed in service from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010. Gutter Grate products that qualify for the tax credit include insulation. 

Claiming Your Tax Credit

After establishing your eligibility to claim a 2009 Tax Credit, please complete the following to ensure accuracy:

• Retain the contractor invoice, ENERGY STAR® labels and the Manufacturer's Certificate for your IRS records. You are not required to provide this documentation to the IRS, but you will be required to present it if audited.
  
• Download the applicable Manufacturer's Certificate PDF following the link below (Adobe Acrobat Reader required), as well as retaining the ENERGY STAR® labels from qualified products.  Certificates are unavailable at this time. When they are available they will be posted here.  Please check back in 2010.
• File your taxes and fill out the appropriate form.  The IRS tax credit form is unavailable at this time.  It will be posted here as soon as it is released.  Please check back in 2010 when you are filing your taxes for 2009.  You will be asked the cost of the gutters or blown-in insulation less the cost of installation labor.  15% of the contract price of Gutter Grate installation jobs is typically allocated to installation labor.
